Pregnancy Care Tips : Becoming a mother is as beautiful a feeling as it is full of difficulties. Pregnancy affects the body of a woman. A mother faces many physical and mental problems for 9 months. The initial months of pregnancy are very delicate. Women need extra care for 3 months after pregnancy.
Keep these 15 things in mind during the initial months of pregnancy
1. The first three months of pregnancy are very special and risky, so instead of taking too much advice on pregnancy from anyone, trust the doctor only.
2. Choose a doctor near your home, so that you can get timely medical service. If you live in a village, then go to ‘Asha Didi’ or Primary Health Center and register your name and follow the advice.
3. Make a routine for food, sleep and exercise only after consulting the doctor. All three are important for your and your child’s health.
4. After examination, the doctor can give supplements like folic acid and calcium. Consume them regularly. Folic acid helps in protecting the baby from neural tube defects. Iron and calcium strengthen the bones by keeping the hemoglobin level of the mother and the baby correct. Do not be careless in taking medicines.
5. Problems like vomiting, nausea, morning sickness or constipation can be normal in pregnancy, but if the problem is severe, consult a doctor immediately and prepare a diet accordingly.
6. If there is pain in the lower abdomen, spotting or light bleeding or blood is visible or there is severe back pain, then instead of ignoring it, you should go and consult a doctor.
7. Never take any medicine on your own during pregnancy. This can be dangerous for both the baby and the mother. Always take medicines after consulting your doctor.
9. Do not drink too much coffee, sweets or cold drinks.
10. If you smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol, quit immediately.
11. Make it a habit to take a light walk. Especially, do a walk after dinner. Do some easy yoga exercises regularly.
12. Avoid too much work or exertion in the first three months. Do not travel much and take rest in between.
13. Protect yourself from stress. It can affect the health of the mother and the child. Do meditation, listen to songs, do some creative things.
14. Instead of eating junk food, eat jaggery patti, almonds, walnuts, cashews, makhana, or beneficial laddus.
